President’s message
M. Brian Fennerty, MD, FASGE
2010-2011 ASGE President
IT&T Capital Campaign off to a fast start
As my term as president comes to an end, it is a pleasure to publicly introduce the
ASGE Institute for Training & Technology (IT&T) Capital Campaign. If you recall,
my November/December 2010 President’s message focused on the planned new
IT&T Center and its technological upgrades, expanded educational curriculum and
innovative research capabilities that will be offered once it is completed. The IT&T
Capital Campaign is a historic funding initiative launched by ASGE to ensure that the
new IT&T Center becomes a reality.
The decision to initiate a capital campaign has been one that has been stirring within
the ASGE Governing Board for the past few years. The concept for this new IT&T
Center began in 2007 with then-president Grace H. Elta, MD, FASGE. At its 2010
summer meeting, the governing board approved the motion to move forward with this
extraordinary endeavor.
